The Times They Are A-Changin’
I recently went through my entire portfolio in search of something. What I found was a bunch of candy..
I don’t mean halloween candy. I mean these photos of mine that don’t really meananything, but are nice to look at. Eye candy.
I have been using a camera for the past eleven years, and I feel like I have either an empty portfolio, or a portfolio full of the same photo over and over.
Starting this week, I will focus more on real-life images (photojournalism, documentary, and street photography) and less on pretty people and staged images.
I will still work with models, just not nearly as much as I do now.
As I type all this out, I am both nervous and excited. Im nervous because Im about to embark on an entirely new course of photography, and because of that I feel like an amateur again. However, Im also excited to learn this new process, and to have a stronger portfolio someday.
This will be a great change. All I ask is for your patience and understanding.
